ABOUT US

FHE is a community based organization, bearing the name of Farming and Health Education. The organization was initiated on 24th june 2018 Kakuma refugees camp, Turkana country, Kenya. We’re governed by the present status and secondary by articles 38 of the Kenya constitution and respect other international, national organization. As refugee initiative it is article 15* freedom of association.

We’re a community-based organization that deals with permaculture projects and agroforestry and Sarafu (community Currency) in Kakuma refugee camp with the aim of eradicating hunger in Kakuma refugee camp. Although LWF and WORLD VISION are also helping us by doing the provision of food, we still have more than 5,000 malnutrition children and malnourished pregnant mothers who are more affected in Kakuma refugee camp.

Due to this, the Farming and Healthy Education community-based organization is working with permaculture and Syntropic Agroforestry and Community Currency (Sarafu) to fill this gap by teaching and growing our own fresh food in Kakuma refugee camp! We also offer counselling program, HIV testing, and hygiene and sanitation practise training.
